— Great Customer Service

Bank of America has proven it should be a market leader to me. They offer great service and exceptional response to questions about my account whenever I ask. They are prompt, courteous, and thorough in their explanations - even to a novice investor like me. My rep even contacted me the other day to explain how I might be earning a better return on my investments if I connected some of my other Bank of America accounts to my investment account. A significant increase in my returns and no transfer charges. Great customer service in my book!

Bank of America is not a consumer oriented bank. First, they have a terrible amount of unforseen fees. Being a college student, I don't have much money and want a free account. They set me up with it, but I'm not allowed to see a teller or call the customer help line. If I do, it will cost me. So I'm stuck with the ATM and a debit card that hasn't come in, but I'm supposed to see the ATM for money. Since I don't have my card (the personal banker typed in the wrong adress) I go to the teller line to withdrawl cash. The teller informs me that it will cost me $2.oo to withdrawl cash. Worse than the ATM machine! She says with the type of account I have I am not allowed to see her. Talk about making me feel like I was back in the Jim-Crow days of the banking world.

— A Brokerage Firm to Bank with

Bank of America brokerage is offering commission free stock trades. To receive commission free trading you have to keep a $25,000 balance in your Bank of America account, not your stock account your regular account. If you don't have that much in your account you will get charged a $10 trade fee and if you don't have a Bank of America account you get charged a $14 trade fee. In addition to a the huge commission fee for not being a Bank of America account holder you will be charged a $50 semi-annual maintenance fee. And if you want trade assistance you will pay a whopping $42.50 fee.

— Talk about crazy requirements.........................

Bank of America brokerage is offering commission free stock trades. Make sure and read the requirement before you get excited. Bank of America is notorious for poor service and hidden fees. The Brokerage end of Bank of America doesn't seem to be any different. I hope people are doing their research before they start using this bank for their investments. I know I won’t be doing any stock trading with Bank of America brokerage.

— The most expensive "free" service you'll ever find.

Typical of Bank of America - long on hype, short on delivery, and long on hidden fees, fine print, and other BS. I will never do business of any variety with BOFA again. I wish I could pick negative stars. Is there a menu option for black holes instead?
