Just an FYI on this bank. On Monday, 8/11/2008 they made a mistake where they improperly scanned a check and debitted my account $480.24. I talked with them on the phone, they agreed it was a mistake, and they would fix it. By Thursday, 8/14/2008 it was still not fixed, with no status, no indication of what they would do. I sent an email, and got a "bogus" we are working on it. When I called by phone and got a manager, all he was concerned with was telling me not the be upset. As of today the problem is not resolved.
This bank does not care about the customer, and are in no rush to fix THEIR problems. Watch out!

Charles Schwab has helped me very often and what I like the most about them is that they are patient even when I ask stupid questions

I really like how when I have a problem with something I can get help from Charles Schwab and the person on the other end actually seems like he a) speaks English clearly and fluently b) doesn’t loath the fact that I am calling. The research tools they provide are also easy to use and actually informative to me, not just info I could look up on Morningstar or some other website. Admittedly I don’t have a lot of investor experience but I really prefer Charles Schwab as a trader wbeepwill look after me.

After years of losing a great deal of money, I was very pleased what I received from Charles Schwab. Finally Charles Schwab provided me with very courteous and prompt customer service, and also I was introduced to new techniques of trading. Their brokers were very well educated and helpful. Thank you! =)

I have been a customer of Charles Schwab for quite awhile and used other online brokers. Although Schwab is not the cheapest discount broker out there, they offer for me the best mix of cost, service, and choices of all the current brokers.
I do most of my own research, but like to take advantage of their input when I need it. I have never found their sales techniques to be pushy in any way, and have feel their recommendations have always been economically sound. Most importantly, despite having a modest portfolio, they have always treated me like a "big" customer. Their website has a wealth of information, all in one place. My only criticism is their "charting" functionality is less user friendly than many of the freely available options you find on sites like MSN. A minor flaw for an otherwise great solution.
